Rosemerline Update

April 1, 2010

We would like to thank everyone for praying for us. Juanita and I started the adoption process to adopt Rosemerline in Feb 2009. We started this after we came to a roadblock in adopting a boy, Charles, from Haiti. Because of the orphanage he was in, the constraints of the government of Haiti, and the resources that would be needed, we had to delay the adoption of Charles. We are still intending to adopt Charles also, but we have finalized Rosermerline and she is now at home with her family.

Please continue to pray for for the staff and volunteers at Heartline Ministries. This is the ministry that runs the orphanage, also a women's center. They have now converted to a hospital.

Please pray for the folks that continue to wait at the Embassy, it is not a easy thing to do. Can be very discouraging.

Pray for the nannies at the orphanage. They cared for the kids even though their own homes were destroyed. Then one day all but three kids leave.

Here are the links to Heartline Ministries and two other blogs. You can see the entries everyday to learn of specific prayer needs, material needs, personnel needs, and supply needs.

Financial donation information is available at Heartline Ministries website.

Please email me any questions you may have about specific information. We will keep you updated.

Traci, thanks for the word about Elijah and the dry bones, very encouraging...learning so many are praying for us is humbling and encouraging to continue to expand the Kingdom, it is good to be a Christian!

In Christ's name,

David & Juanita

Praise God that all things that have happened have shown more of His plan.  Juanita is in Haiti, got there for free!
Rosemerline and Juanita staying together. US Embassy flight out at 2pm today...please pray this happens, nothing hinders.  I will be in Canton until I hear they are in the air.  Pray that I hear this news...communication is difficult.
Pray I get a flight to Miami. Pray that Immigration does give Rosemerline to us in Miami (yes we still have a last approval there!)  Pray that the workers at the Embassy put together the docs for exit from Haiti correctly, one was left off yesterday causing the child to be detained at the airport and missing the flight. This flight out may be carrying many kids, 50 or so, lots of papers.  Pray that the detained child yesterday makes it on this flight, Gabriel's parents have been in Miami for a week waiting for him. Gabriel is less than 1 year old.

Thank you for your prayers! We can sense it and your encouraging replies keep us moving forward w/o doubt.

We are praying that they get the release today from the embassy. It's been some confusion it they are for sure allowing the kids to leave. Although, 6 kids did leave yesterday & arrived here in Florida. We are praying that they will be able to leave today. It looks like the plane Lisa is flying on will be able to bring them back. We are praying that it all works out for Rosemerline to come here today. Thanks for all your prayers!!!

We just got another call saying that the plane that she is planning to fly out on is not wanting to fly them out. We are praying that things work out and that they will be able to bring them out. The Saturday plane that was available is now full. We are praying that God is working it all out. They do have the approval to leave. May God reign over this situation.

The plan right now is that I am flying out to Haiti @2:15. And working on flying back Friday or Saturday.  Please be praying!!!

Byron's meeting at the embassy brought some great news!

Rose Mirline has been granted humanitarian parole, with a category 2 ruling. Her file has now been added to the other files which are being sent to the Haitian Prime Minister for his signature which will grant her permission to leave Haiti. They cannot tell us how long this will take, Byron expects that she will have it by the end of next week, and it is possible that it could be sooner. Please take these "guesstimates" regarding the time frame with a grain of salt, it is still Haiti! " YEA!!!! Thank you, Jesus!  We will let you know as soon as the signature has been received.

Thanks for all your prayers!!! We got a call today from the embassy in Haiti & they have to take Rosemerline there @ 7:30 in the morning for pictures. Tomorrow there is a conference call about the resumption of commercial flights to Port-au-Prince. I think we still need the Haiti government sign off also. Please, keep praying! Hopefully we'll be getting her soon.

Update yesterday, they went to the embassy & give the papers. They were missing one paper for another child in our orphanage. So, today they went back to give them the paper. Now they are waiting on a reschedule appointment for the embassy. Thanks for all your prayers!!!

Here are prayer & declarations that our friend Belinda typed up & you can use to pray for us.

• We know that God administers justice for the fatherless and He is doing the same for Rosemerline. We declare that Rosemerline is justly treated and her application for adoption is reviewed with integrity of heart. We thank God for favor! (Deuteronomy 10:18)

• The fatherless will come within the gates and eat and be satisfied. We say that Rosemerline comes within the Cox family’s gates and eats heartily of the bounty of the family. They will be blessed in all they do
for receiving her. (Deuteronomy 14:29)

• We declare no perverted justice for Rosemerline or any of the widows and orphans of Haiti. (Deuteronomy 24:17)

• The Cox family is the helper of the fatherless. By extension, we help as we stand with them in prayer and with support in every way. (Psalm 10:14)

•We thank you Lord that you are a Father to the fatherless. Thank you for being daddy and God to all of the orphans in Haiti and around the world.

Prayer and thanksgiving areas:

• Favor for Rosemerline and Cox family with God and man.
• Plans of enemy thwarted/defeated.
• Provision for everything needed for the adoption, transportation and welfare of Rosemerline.
• Immediate transportation will be available to Rosemerline to bring her to America.
• Dave and Juanita will be able to get a timely flight to the arrival point once notified of Rosemerline’s departure from Haiti.
• Rosemerline feels no fear or anxiety on her flight or coming to a new family and country.
• Easy adjustment for Rosemerline and all of the Cox family.
• Continued favor for Dave and Juanita with their employer.
• Pray for their son Charles they want to adopt from Haiti also. He doesn’t have all of his paperwork so it will take more time.
• Pray for the country of Haiti (another earthquake is being predicted).

Our adoption is moving along. Word from the ground in Haiti is things are looking good for us. A conference call earlier today also emphasized that our is being worked on. Immigration called us Monday. We were fingerprinted yesterday. Things are moving. As I learn more, it seems that the transition from Haiti to the US is going smoother everyday, that has got to be better on the children. God is so good, if we can just be patient in His timing! It really is a miracle that we can get this complete almost a year sooner than if there was no earthquake. Please keep praying, our emotional state goes up and down.

Thanks so much. It really helps knowing people are praying. Sunday, we as a church prayed through the valley of dry bones. Prophesied that the adoption come together and then life to it.

Yesterday, immigration called and we have an appointment to get fingerprinted today in Atlanta. This means USCIS is looking at our case and getting it ready to put before the Prime Minister to review. Please continue praying for Rosemerline and Charles and that Rosemerline's file will be approved by the Prime Minister.
